War? What is Good for? Songs?

While looking at websites about Afghanistan, I say to myself, just get the hell out of there, the Russians couldn’t do it, what makes us think we can?  Oh, that’s right, they attacked us.

Well, didn’t they attack us in the Bay of Tonkin?  Isn’t that the whole idea?  We are not aggressors.  We defend liberty, justice and the American way.  But, I really don’t buy it anymore.  Nor, do I buy the liberal point of view either.

It doesn’t really really matter who is in office at the time, Democrat or Republican, what matters is the economy.  Right now, the economy sucks.  And if you were to bring back all of the young men who were serving overseas back home, what jobs would they come home to?  So I say increase the troops by the 10% that is unemployed, then it will look like employment is okay…Sounds like a great plan, huh?  So, I’d show this to someone in the higher up.

Now, we have someone going whacko in Ft.Hood. But, he gets shot by civilian police who evidently are trained not to kill.  What happened to shoot to kill?   And I ride the bus and after I mention the flags being flown at half mast, this kid whips up his arm to show his crescent moon and star tattoo.  So is he Muslim?

Does that mean I should be afraid to ride the bus or convert to Islam?  What is the difference between Muslim and Islam anyway?  Can you be Muslim and be my friend with me being a Christian, or it just as bad as within Christianity, and we all are trying to convert each other to our own respective denominations.  Or is that about money, too?  Where is Robin Hood when you need him?  Ft. Hood…Hmmmmm

Three cheers for the merry men!

Riding the Bus

So my Jeep breaks down, and I  now have to learn how schedule shopping and do all the things I used to do by Jeep by public transportation.  I go to a regular meeting, since I am a friend of Bill W.’s. Every morning I go out of the house, and I get down to the bus stop in time so I will not miss the 99 bus so I can connect with the 3 bus westbound.

The 99 bus is an interesting bus because it runs to and from Palmetto, FL and to the transit station in Sarasota, FL. on Fruitville Rd.  They supposedly  alternate runs between Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT) and Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT).  A SCAT –MCAT situation.  There is actually a cat as symbol for the transit on Manatee’s transit system…Scat cat….   cute….

Most mornings I can see the bus pull up to the corner of Cortez and 14th St W around 8:25 AM and reach me about 8:30 AM with a 5 min lay over at Desoto Station. It is the SCAT bus that reaches this time.  Once before this month and for the last two mornings the bus has just sat there and sat there and sat there.  This resulted in late connections.

Yesterday, I made it to the meeting late.  Today I came home and changed clothes and missed the bus and missed the meeting.  My own actions exacerbated the situation.

Monday we will see what happens again…And we, the riders are trying to get a Sunday run…Good luck to us…

GOVERNMENT?

For those who need a picture,
To the Congress:

BEWARE.. WE THE PEOPLE ARE WATCHING.
WE'LL SEE YOU AT THE NEXT ELECTION.

For those who need a picture,
To the Congress:
PostOffice
The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775 - you have had 234 years to get it right; it is broke.
FDR
Social Security was established in 1935 - you have had 74 years to get it right; it is broke.
 FannieMae
Fannie Mae was established in 1938 - you have had 71 years to get it right; it is broke.
WaronPoverty
The "War on Poverty" started in 1964 - you have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor"; it hasn't worked and our entire country is broke.
Medicare
Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 - you've had 44 years to get it right; they are broke.
FreddieMac
Freddie Mac was established in 1970 - you have had 39 years to get it right; it is broke.
TARP
Trillions of dollars were spent in the massive political payoffs called TARP, the "Stimulus", the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009... none show any signs of working, although ACORN appears to have found a new source: the American taxpayer.
And finally, to set a new record:
CashforClunkers
"Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009! It took cars (that were the best some people could afford) and replaced them with high-priced and less-affordable cars, mostly Japanese. A good percentage of the profits went out of the country. And the American taxpayers take the hit for Congress' generosity in burning three billion more of our dollars on failed experiments.
100%failurerate
So with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that "services" you shove down our throats are failing faster and faster, you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system?

20% of our entire economy?

With all due respect,

Are you crazy?

My sons are grown up and I’m still paying child support

Well, I am trucking right along with my new bank’s bill pay and checking things out.  I have been paying the State of Illinois regularly $25.00 a month on my bill pay no matter who was my bank.  But, I must have stepped on a toe some where, because out of the blue and Illinois shows up,  the “Guess what we are garnishing your Social Security notice.”  So, just in case, I call the 800 number, listen to elevator music and finally get a human being.  I guess the woman was shocked because when I have no control over things, I don’t get upset.  I just wanted to make sure…My oldest son is now 25 years old, and here I am still paying child support.  Neither one to my knowledge benefit from my payments.  I think only the state of Illinois is getting some back dollars.

Well, if the Social Security goes bust, then Illinois is screwed.  They are considered my employer.  Or maybe I should just go down to the office and start working and then ask for my paycheck no one would know the difference.  Just sit in a desk and go to work.  And come time to fill out the payroll, ask someone how to do it…Nah…to much like work.

So immediately, without hesitation I have removed Illinois’s payment for this month.  They certainly won’t send me a notice, huh?  If they garnish my SS, then I am down only 12 dollars, if not, then I am up 25.  What a juggle.  If I had only done this in my younger days with money.  I might have some now…

According to my calculations, I have about only 6 months left of Illinois….Then, I can start to deal with another predator, I mean creditor.

Sometimes I have a hard time listening, Lord

As I was headed out to do my laundry this morning I was trying to decide whether to leave my screen saver (which I really don’t have to run since I have a flat screen) on, and what to leave on it.  I decided to check out what the prescreen and what I might look like should I leave since its bright out and I have a few risqué things on the screen saver.  Well, I fire it up and here is the first picture that popped up…

I’m a multi-millionaire but the banks will not believe me

I keep getting these emails in my junk file that say that I have received several thousand dollars throughout the world from people who have died and all I need to do is contact them to receive it.  I tried taking all of them to my bank to get credit for a several million dollar loan to buy something but, they won’t loan me the money.  All I would really want to do is pay off all my debts, but so far no one has sent me the real cashiers checks.  Darn…What did I do wrong.  My genuine attorney in Nigeria tells me to ignore most of them. LOL…in the meantime I have to get ready to walk down to the laudrymat do my laundry…Yesterday I did my shopping on the bus and walked home and forgot how hot it was…I am glad I had bought a dolly to use…In the meantime I guess everyone’s attorney will just keep checking out my bank account what I talk about.

Well, I am not generous!  It will not work.  If someone died, the attorney had better come meet me and talk to my representatives.  Then, I may listen.  Son, I have been in the military and survived all sorts of stuff…So save you time….

Darn, Lost my Ring

It was a diamond ring that was originally a wedding ring.  When I went through the divorce, I kept the ring and another ring which I lost while moving.  This ring I had sized to where on my left pinky.  But, recently I noticed that it was becoming loose.

So, here I go to do laundry.  And you know the something tells me voice?  Well, it told me to leave it off and not to wear it.  But, do I do that.  Well, of course not.  So here I am blogging about not listening to that still small voice that tells you to do something.

I feel like crying now.  But I am trying to cook chicken and am trying not to burn it…I am not sure whether it was because my ex-wife gave me the ring that it was special, or the fact that I had it sized and that meant a new life to me.  But, really hope some sleazy person who keeps holding me up in the Laundromat is not the one who finds it.

For now, I will keep on trucking and just say the Serenity Prayer…God grant me the Serenity to Accept the things I cannot Change, etc…

Fierce Warriors…But, No 1/2 Half Fare!

I see them riding, sitting alone.  Broken men making it alone.  Were it not for the hat, you’d never know they were veterans each a different war in a different place.  Fierce warriors, now valiant in their guardianship of the younger men and women who ride  along side together.  A quick glance toward each other, and already, they are brothers, born by blood, in a conflict, in a far off continent, in a different era, fighting for some unknown cause.

And he asked himself, you can be an immigrant with a Federal Medicare Card, but a Veteran without one and not get half fare.  You cannot speak English and not have spilled blood for your country, but without a Federal Medicare Card, a Veteran cannot get 1/2 fare.

He looks at him and says, but he's just a kid.  Then so, was I.  And continues to think…A Veteran would not be seeking Medicare until later in life; but, might need 1/2 fare before then.  Is not  the spilt blood of either his comrade or his enemy enough to pay for the 1/2 fare?

My Vampire Game Story

While coming back from battling the British, we were attacked over in Scotland by infidelity of the British kings.  We were forced to flee to Ireland where found our thirst for blood continued.  Throughout the countryside we roamed, always becoming a soldier so that there would be blood nearby.  We were especially attracted to British blood and had a vengeance for it.

But there soon became a price on our head and we found it necessary to flee to new colonies and hid aboard a freighter bound for the Georgia colony.  There was a time when all was well and we married and had large family, but soon our bloodlust could not be kept at bay. And the cemeteries were filled with mysterious deaths.  And our bloodlust finally permeated our own family. It was our grandson that we brought into the noble blood.  Later he left for Arizona and did the same to his son who wound up running away from home to join the US Army.  When he married, his oldest son, Lord William was permeated with the blood lust and taught the ways and tricks of our trade.  For we are Scots-Irish fighters, bleeders, tears of flesh and death to those who oppose the freedom we represent. And although I have traveled for a short time in Southeast Asia through Viet Nam and Laos tasting the blood of the young men and women there, finally, I, Lord William, came to Sarasota and Bradenton to reside through many women in my life and here I stay watching to seek those who oppose the cause we represent.

My background is Scots-Irish. I am a direct descendant of Irish Billy Dunn who came here in 1808 from Ireland. My father was William Perl Dunn. His father was William Pearl Dunn. His father was Henry T. Dunn and William J. Dunn also known as Irish Billy Dunn was his father. Irish Billy had 10 children.
I feel like I was born on the road. The first thing I remember was reaching down into a cooking pot for a piece of bread while we were in transit from Georgia to Pennsylvania love eating tomatoes and I remember eating them at Aunt Heddy’s and Aunt Annie’s house in Colquitt, Ga., before we left. I am not sure when the memories are, before or after. At any rate, I kept being asked where I got my red hair from and I would say from eating tomatoes, smart ass that I am.
Then, we went back to North Augusta, SC, while Daddy was in Camp Gordon, Ga. Then Daddy had to go to Germany, and he take us with him. We were all excited.
