Getting tired working at Radio Shack. I am totally burned out there. Sunny has created a nightmare of working there. She really does not delegate, tries to do so, but it does not work. So she winds up doing everything herself, if I don't go around finding things that need to be done that are behind to be done. After working for a manager like Clyde, working for Sunny, I am burned out. Sunny does not know when to quit or take a break. She expects us to do the same. Ray operate the same speed. I am sure that customers have reported back to Clyde and Clyde back to Tim. Anyone coming into the store during Black Friday could see the entire mess as with the weekend. While John is a Hotshot saleman, he has a hardtime with mechanical things and does not want to do his price auditing. John does not want to do anything but sales and is good sales. He finally rewired the TV and sound. Ray learns quickly for someone who has had no computer, electronic experience. He has had to learn from scratch everything. He is bilingual Sunny hired him simply because of his personality and she was desperate. She gave him full time. Sunny will not allow anyone to train Ray but herself, but has not totally trained him, so he is dependent upon her and calls her all the time. When I am in them middle to talking to a customer he will go in the back and call her to find a product that I am looking for on the computer. I am supposed to be the Person in Charge, But I have never be trained in Proxy of anything. Should Sunny get sick again, 9863 will be screwed. I have tryed to be man you can count to be there at a moments notice while working for Clyde, jumped in the shower and my Jeep and came clocked in on my time off. Since Sunny was the only one to do most of everything during Black Friday, it was frustrating when customers asked where things were. I no longer knew where anything was. I then had to depend on Sunny. I would leave at night and come back it would have been moved. I never was given but a few planograms to do and did not know what to plan was in the beginning. I have been a manager of retail before and tried to it all by myself and burned out. I never could figure out why Clyde seemed to just sitting there, and selling quietly, putting out stock & tags quietly, every once and while asking me to ring something up. Then it dawned on me. He was being a manager. Duh. I have been in cell phone sales before, but my numbers were not the best because I had developed the reputation of customer service, which were supposed to be, and spent so much time solving customer problems, that I did not sell that much. But the company sure had happy customer. That is why I liked working at Radio Shack. I can solve customer service issues and sell something along the way to the same person when they come back to me happy. It has happened over and over again. So far the hot shot sales person, I have received lots of returned for them. I wonder how many returns in comparison. These are my many thoughts.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-01-14T20:28:02Z</dcterms:modified>

Getting burned out with The Shack

This was in draft before my computer motherboard broke back in November

It has been a real struggle working at Radio Shack for Sunny lately. She has gotten really whacked out in trying to get the store reset for the day after Thanksgiving. The sad part about it is that so far Ray has had no training on cell phones. Sunny has assumed that only she can do anything will not allow me to train him or designate me to do so. It has all been just open boxes and rearranging the store. I worked today from 9:20 am to 9 PM. I took a break when I took the deposit to the bank. I got some ice cream and sat down for a little bit. I finished another planogram. I cannot operate in the manic fashion that she does. Today was nonstop with customer and then she wanted to close early to get things done. Not sure if she had approval from DM or not. I don't think so. I am burned out with then whole thing. I am off tomorrow.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-01-14T20:17:27Z</dcterms:modified>

My Cage Was Rattled At Work

The other evening my coworker was in the restroom taking her usual long time and a kid came in to buy something. He bought a hookup cable of some kind. So in the process, I asked how old he was was. 12 he says. I as I say he was tall for his age, and my sons were tall. I thought nothing of it trying to be friendly. He then says the cable costs alot. And I say I can find out how much it cost, but I need to go to the computer in back. I wanted him to follow me to the door way so I could keep an eye on him. (My coworker is still in the restroom.) The kid is really shy and says no he does not want to come back there. I don't allow anyone to come to back room unless they are personal friends or family of coworkers. There is too much merchandise being stored back there. So the kid decided to leave. I thought nothing of it except he seemed to be rather shy about following me.

Well, the next day I come to work and 2 sheriffs show up wanting to speak to me. They asked to speak to me in the backroom. LOL. I should have asked for some ID. It appears that this kid reported me as some sort of perpertrator. I was made out to be someone who was trying to get him in the backroom. My cage was rattled. I was blown away. Here I was feeling guilty for having a collection of playboy pinups, never thought about inviting 12 year old boys. He thought I was being too friendly.

The second sheriff decided it was just a misunderstanding. I hope so. I really don't want to meet someone online only to find out that this beautiful woman is really a sheriff.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-08-19T14:55:32Z</dcterms:modified>

Being let go

According to the schedule, I was supposed to work at my other job, so this morning I woke up and after my regular routine packed my bags and headed out to the IF group meeting. I got a call from one of the staff asking me if I could work Saturday night at another house. I was in the middle of driving, so I said yes. Then I was called back or I responded to a voice mail. I finally asked if I was working at the place I had been working. The reply was no. So I told them something had come up and I could not work on the weekend. I then got a phone call from personnel wanting to talk to me about my position, to call and not drive out there.

(I guess they were concerned of my response.) I called and I was informed officially that my position had been eliminated. I told them the entire story, was put on hold for a short time, when she came back I was offered 2 weeks severance pay. I took it. Hoo, Hoo. I can eat for two weeks at least.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-01-27T15:12:39Z</dcterms:modified>

Looking for Work

I have only 10 hours at Radio Shack this week and 32 at Community Haven. They have changed the name from Children's Haven to Community Haven. I am struggling with energy level ever since my vitamin's have ran out.

But, I forgot how stressful the job was. We were going to the pancake breakfast and the van had a flat tire, so we had to take 2 vans and make 2 trips. So now I am looking for another job during the week since my hours are being cut down to 10. I will find something more suitable for me...Meanwhile I need to get my Jeep running. The cap on the resovoir is not working so it overheats. I have not coolant in it. I think the thermostat is stuck or not working. So I really need a mechanic, but cannot afford it...God will provide.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-06-06T03:04:51Z</dcterms:modified>
